The Galaxy S24 series includes three devices, which share the same lineup and screen sizes as the previous Galaxy S23 series. The flagship Galaxy S24 features a flat 6.2-inch (155 mm) display. The Galaxy S24+ features similar hardware in a 6.7-inch (168 mm) form factor. At the top of the lineup, the Galaxy S24 Ultra features a flat 6.8-inch (173 mm) display, dropping curved edges. S24 and S24+ are powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the USA, Canada, China, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan while a Samsung Exynos 2400 is used in the rest of the world including South Korea, India and the Middle East. S24 Ultra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in every market.[10][11]
Design
The Galaxy S24 and S24+ feature aluminum and glass versions and are available in four standard colors: Amber Yellow, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet, and Onyx Black, with three additional colors available only through Samsung's website: Jade Green, Sapphire Blue and Sandstone Orange. The S24 Ultra features titanium versions of these colors.[12]

The Galaxy S24 series features a "Dynamic AMOLED 2X" display with HDR10+ support, 2600 nits of peak brightness, LTPO and "dynamic tone mapping" technology.[13] All models use an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. The S24 series uses a variable refresh rate display with a range of 1 Hz[14] or 24 Hz[15] to 120 Hz.[16]
The Galaxy S24 Ultra in addition to the features of the S24+ uses Corning Gorilla Glass Armor glass and LTPO technology on its display, but it drops the curved edges seen in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.[17]
The Galaxy S24 and S24+ have a 50 MP wide sensor, a 10 MP 3x tele telephoto sensor and a 12 MP ultrawide sensor. The S24 Ultra has a 200 MP wide sensor, 50 MP 5× tele periscope telephoto sensor, 10 MP 3x tele telephoto sensor, and a 12 MP ultrawide sensor. The front camera uses a 12 MP sensor on all three models.

Batteries
The Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra contain non-removable 4,000 mAh, 4,900 mAh, and 5,000 mAh Li-ion batteries respectively. The S24 only charges at 25 watts, while the S24+ and S24 Ultra charge up at 45 watts charging.
Connectivity
The Galaxy S24, and S24+ support 5G SA/NSA/Sub6, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra additionally supports Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-wideband (UWB).[19] All models support 5G mmWave exclusively in the US.
Memory and storage
The Galaxy S24 phones feature 4,800 MT/sLPDDR5X memory and Universal Flash Storage 3.1 with 128 GB or version 4.0 with 256 GB and above.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 phones were released with Android 14 with Samsung's One UI 6.1 user experience. Samsung has promised 7 years of security patches and OS upgrades.[20]
Some users noted that the Galaxy S24 Ultra's S Pen "absolutely reeks", with a smell that was likened to "burnt plastic". A moderator on Samsung's EU forums explained,[22][23]
This isn’t anything to be concerned about. While the S Pen is in its holster, it is close to the internal components of the phone, which will generate heat while in use, and cause the plastic to heat up. This can smell like burning, but it is similar to the smell you might experience after leaving your car in the sun for a few hours. The seats and plastic fittings in the vehicle might smell hot, but this will diminish after it cools.
