In April 2008 Wardum signed for Icelandic Úrvalsdeild champions Valur.[2] She became the first female footballer from the Faroe Islands to play for a foreign club.[3] In September 2008 she was in the Valur team who retained their title with an 8–0 win over Stjarnan.[4]
The Faroe Islands Football Association (FSF) relaunched their senior women's national team in 2004 after an eight-year hiatus. Wardum kept goal in their first match, a 2–1 friendly defeat to Ireland.[5] The match was staged in Klaksvík on 12 October 2004, the day before the nations' senior men's teams met at Lansdowne Road, Dublin.
She played in all five games as the Faroe Islands won the football tournament at the 2005 Island Games in Shetland.[6]
