Pamela Spitzmueller

Pamela Spitzmueller (b. 1950, Chicago, Illinois)[1] is an American conservator and book artist. She attended the University of Illinois Chicago and then studied with the book conservator Gary Frost.[2] She worked in the conservation departments of the Library of Congress, the Newberry Library, the University of Iowa Libraries, and Harvard Library, where she was Chief Conservator for Special Collections.[3]

Spitzmueller also creates artists' books. Her work has been included in many exhibitions,[4][5][6] including a solo exhibition in 2013 at the Center for Book Arts entitled "Pamela Spitzmueller: Fold=Trans=Form".[7]

Her work is in the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA)[8] and the Yale University Art Gallery.[9]
