Nyakundi Isaboke is a Kenyan actor, director, and screenwriter known for his impactful contributions to television, film, and commercials^[1]. Active since 2012, Isaboke has earned acclaim for his versatility and ability to portray a wide range of characters across different genres.

Early Life

Nyakundi Isaboke was born on January 3, 1994, in Kibera (Kibra) Nairobi, Kenya. His passion for the performing arts emerged early, with active participation in school plays and community theater. These experiences laid the foundation for his career in acting and filmmaking.

Career

Television

Isaboke made his acting debut in 2012 with a role in the Kenyan drama series Makavazi on KBC. His breakout role as Nurse Obiero in Citizen TV’s Santalal (2015–2017) established his reputation as a skilled actor. He further gained recognition for his roles in popular series such as Sue na Jonny, Varshita, and Maria, where he played Silas from 2018 to 2022.

In 2023, he appeared in several productions, including A Better Life^[2] (Showmax), Shamba la Wanyama (Citizen TV), though was discontinued after first episode^[3], and Kasiri (Maisha Magic Plus)^[4].

Film

Isaboke’s film career includes notable roles such as Kasisi in the Netflix film Click Click Bang^[5][6][7] by Philit Productions, and Afande Kevin in Ayaanle^[8]. His performance as a prisoner in the thriller 40 Sticks was also critically acclaimed.

In addition to acting, Isaboke has featured in commercials for prominent brands, including Safaricom, KCB, Tuzo, Kenya Orient, and Ariel Jonte Fresh.

He also performed in the musical play Lwanda Otero, as Konte, which was staged at Braeburn School in Nairobi, Kenya^[12].
