Spouse of the current Vietnamese leader
Ngô Phương Ly is a Vietnamese journalist who briefly served as the First Lady of Vietnam in 2024. She is the second wife of General Tô Lâm, who has been the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam - the highest position in the Politics of Vietnam since late 2024.
Madame Ly is currently the Head of the Culture and Arts Department of Vietnam Television.[1] She was one of the developers of the program Người xây tổ ấm on VTV3 channel.[2] She is credited as the logo designer for the Golden Kites Award.[3]
Personal life
Before Tô Lâm's marriage to Ngô Phương Ly, he had been in a marriage with another woman but then divorced.
Madame Ly is the daughter of two People's Artist of Vietnam [vi], animation director Ngô Mạnh Lân [vi] and actress Phan Thị Ngọc Lan [vi].[4][5] Her family has four siblings, she is the third child in the family.[6] Her sister, Ngô Phương Lan [vi], is the former Director of the Cinematic Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.[7]
