Malard (Persian : ملارد )[a] is a city in the Central District of Malard County , Tehran province, Iran , serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] It is also the administrative center for Malard-e Shomali Rural District (formerly Malard Rural District.[5]
At the 2006 census, its population was 228,673 in 61,302 households, when it was in the former Malard District of Shahriar County .[6] The following census in 2011 counted 290,817 people in 85,445 households,[7] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Malard County.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 281,027 people in 86,830 households.[2]

Transportation
The city is served by buses from the municipal-run Malard and Suburbs Bus Organization , connecting the city to Shahriar , Karaj , Qods , and Tehran .
