Jay Farber is an American pro-amateur midstakes[1] poker player and night club host[2] who finished second in the 2013 $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold'em Main Event Championship.[2][3][4]
Career
Transition from semi-amateur to amateur
Farber graduated from Santa Barbara High School and is a former business student at Santa Barbara City College.[2] After he graduated he was working as a club promoter soon elevated to night club host. While Farber then worked for himself he could play in the Main Event since he wasn't working full-time anymore.[3]
Transition from amateur to pro-amateur
After his then further success in the Main Event Farber followed through with a third-place position in 2018's $1,500 No Limit Hold'em - Bounty (Event #51) (World Series of Poker) ($121,932); a fifth-place position in another event the same year in the $5,000 + 225 No Limit Hold'em - CPPT #126 (DeepStack Championship Poker Series) ($134,083); and an eighth place in a World Poker Tour event in the year to come for $52,790.[1]
Career earnings
As of July 2024, Farber's total live tournament winnings almost equals $5,700,000.[1]
