Javier Domínguez Gómez is a Spanish Magic: The Gathering player and twice a World Champion.
Magic career
He won the 2018 World Championship, where he defeated Grzegorz Kowalski in the final, one year after finishing runner-up at the 2017 World Championship, losing in the final to William Jensen. In 2024, Dominguez won the World Championship for the second time,[1] then became Player of the Year.
He placed fifth at Pro Tour Rivals of Ixalan in 2018 after having posted several top 16 finishes at the Pro Tour level without quite making it through to Sunday play, including 9th-place finishes at PT Battle for Zendikar and at PT Hour of Devastation. He also has ten Grand Prix top eights, including wins at GP Paris 2014 and at GP Rotterdam 2016 alongside teammates Marcio Carvalho and Luis Salvatto. In December 2018, it was announced that Dominguez would be one of the 32 players joining the upcoming 2019 Magic Pro League. With a win at Mythic Championship V, third place at Mythic Championship VII, and a Top 8 at Mythic Championship II, he placed first and could continue in the 2020 Season.
With a Top 8 at the Kaldheim Championship and strong League Weekend results, he qualified for the MPL Gauntlet and made Top 8, being one of six players to be in the MPL for all its seasons.
