Istanbul Medipol University (Turkish: İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi) is a private university in Istanbul, Turkey. It was founded by Turkey Education Health and Research Foundation in 2009.[4] The founder of the foundation is Fahrettin Koca, who is the current Minister of Health of Turkey.[4]
The university consists of 12 faculties, 5 institutes and 4 vocational colleges. There are 37.051 registered students studying at the university. The number of undergraduate students is 22.526 and the number of graduate students is 1.766. The number of associate degree students is 12.759. And the foreign students number is 2.854. Some 1.213 academicians lecture at the university and 2.309 administrative personnel work at the university.[1]
The university has 71 undergraduate programs in 13 faculties. Twenty-four of these programs are taught in English.[5]
History
Istanbul Medipol University was established on 7 July 2009 by the Medipolitan Education and Health Foundation (today's Turkey Education Health and Research Foundation) and gained its public legal personality as a foundation university.
Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law became a member of the European Law Faculties Association in 2015, where law faculties in Europe come together under various activities.[6][7]
The university has 100 active student clubs, which are all active in social, cultural, scientific and personal, as well as academic education for its students.[9]

Campuses
Istanbul Medipol University continues its education and training activities in Kavacık North, Kavacık South and Haliç Campuses. In addition, students' practical courses and internship training continue at Medipol Mega University Hospital.[10]
Kavacık Campuses
The university's Kavacık campuses are located in Beykoz, close to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. Kavacık campuses consist of two campuses. Kavacık North and Kavacık South Campuses host education, laboratory, girls' and boys' dormitory buildings, football, tennis and basketball courts, recreation and conversation areas, large halls, classrooms and parking areas.[10]
Other locations
The university also has campuses in Haliç and Bağcılar. The Bağcılar campus of the university is a university hospital and its called Medipol Mega University Hospital. Here, students' practical courses and internship training are held.
Library
There are libraries in Istanbul Medipol University's Kavacık North, Kavacık South, Haliç and the University Hospital campuses. As of 2023, there are 80,683 printed books, 96 printed journals, 434 theses, 721,831 electronic books, 60,435 electronic journals, 38 databases and 632 DVD collections in libraries. The library has a rare collection of 38 books dating back to before 1950.[11]
In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022, Istanbul Medipol University is ranked at 1201+ globally. In the broad subject areas, it is ranked 401+ in "Young Universities", 601+ in "Clinical, pre-clinical & health", 401-500 in "Business & Economics".[5]
In the QS World University Rankings 2024, Istanbul Medipol University is ranked at 351-400 on EECA Rankings and 601+ in Europe University Rankings.[13]
