The COP9 signalosome complex subunit 1 is a protein encoded by the GPS1gene.[5][6]
This gene is known to inhibit G-protein and mitogen-activated signal transduction in mammalian cells. The protein encoded by this gene shares significant similarity with Arabidopsis FUS6, a regulator of light-mediated signal transduction in plant cells. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.[6]
