Draft:YEO Messaging

YEO Messaging is a British software company founded in 2017 and headquartered in London, England. The company develops secure messaging software that incorporates biometric authentication and end-to-end encryption.

YEO Messaging is available on Android and iOS. It can be accessed via web browser but requires the mobile application to function.

History

YEO Messaging was founded by Alan Jones, Sarah Bone and Luca Rognoni.[1]

The company opened a public crowdfunding round alongside the launch of its messaging application in 2021.[2]

In April 2021, YEO Messaging's crowdfunding campaign had raised approximately £736,000.[3]

Later that year, the company participated in the Lloyd's Lab innovation accelerator programme at Lloyd's of London.[4]

The development of the platform was logged in an interview with the company co-founder in 2024 .[5]

Technology

YEO Messaging provides end-to-end encrypted messaging. The platform supports text messaging, voice and video calls, file sharing, location sharing, group messaging and timed message deletion.[6]

The platform incorporates biometric authentication technologies including facial recognition and liveness detection for user verification, with biometric processing occurring on the user's device rather than through centralised storage of facial data, according to industry coverage.[7]

YEO Messaging is available for Android and iOS devices and can be accessed through a web browser in conjunction with the mobile application.[8][9]

SiliconANGLE discussed the company's biometric identity verification technology in coverage of innovations presented at Mobile World Congress in 2026.[10]

Reception

In April 2025, the Evening Standard included YEO Messaging in a list of alternative messaging applications to WhatsApp.[11]

In March 2025, the company was profiled in Entrepreneur UK.[12]

In January 2026, Intelligent CISO included commentary from the company's chief security officer, Luca Rognoni, in an article on cybersecurity priorities.[13]
