  • Comment: The Times article is very good for the purposes of both verification and notability, but that is the only source in that category. The rest are passing references or lists/databases, which may have limited value under WP:V and no value under WP:N. So if we say The Times meets WP:42, we would need two other similar sorts of sourcing to meet the requirements of WP:NCORP, that is to say "multiple". See the Acme case study to see the complexities here. ChrysGalley (talk) 07:55, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

wed2b is a bridalwear retailer headquartered in Milton Keynes, England, offering wedding dresses and related products through multiple stores across the UK and Europe.[2] It specialises in off-the-peg wedding dresses and related bridal products at mid-market price points, selling through a chain of large-format stores and not by appointment.[3]

Founded in 2009 as Wedding Dress Factory Outlet by husband-and-wife team Todd and Jenny Cassidy, the business rebranded as wed2b in 2015.[3]

wed2b has appeared in the Financial Times FT 1000 ranking of Europe’s fastest-growing companies in 2019[4] and 2020[5] and twice in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table of high-growth private companies in the United Kingdom.

History

The company opened its first store in 2009 under the name Wedding Dress Factory Outlet in Leicestershire, England.[3]

Its early model focused on offering off-the-peg designer wedding gowns at lower prices than traditional bridal shops and boutiques, using larger retail units rather than small salons to stock high volumes of dresses.[6]

The founders initially tested the concept by selling gowns directly from a warehouse before developing a walk-in, no-appointment retail format. During its early years, the business adopted an off-the-peg model, offering wedding gowns at lower prices than traditional bridal boutiques.[6]

Expansion

wed2b’s expansion during the mid-2010s was supported by external investment, including a majority stake acquired by entrepreneur Javad Marandi in 2013.[7]

In April 2017, The Times profiled wed2b as an “affordable bridalwear” business and reported that the company’s annual revenue had grown from £1.87 million in 2014 to £8.46 million in 2016, with a projected turnover of more than £15 million for the following year.[6]

Partnerships

In 2018, wed2b trialled a bridalwear concession by leasing retail space within the Manchester Arndale flagship store of British clothing retailer Next plc. The concession occupied approximately 3,700 square feet on the third floor of the store.[8]

Awards and Recognition

Growth rankings

wed2b has been recognised in several rankings of fast-growing private companies, appearing in the Financial Times FT 1000 lists of Europe’s fastest-growing companies in both 2019[4] and 2020.[4]

The retailer also appeared twice in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table, which ranks private companies by sales growth. The company debuted at 18th place in the 21st annual table and later ranked 32nd in the 22nd annual table.

In 2024, wed2b was named in the E2E Female 100 index of fast-growing female-led or founded businesses, compiled by E2E in association with The Independent.[9]

Supply chain awards

In 2017, wed2b won the FuturMaster Award for Supply Chain Visibility at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards, organised by Logistics Manager and Supply Chain Excellence Awards Ltd. The award recognised the company’s implementation of Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) stock monitoring to improve stock visibility across its store network.[10]
