Twisted is a storm-chasing simulator game created on the Roblox platform by developers Willzuh and Siryzm. It was released on December 30, 2020. The game places players in the fictional Midwestern / Southeastern U.S. state of Keysota, where they chase severe weather, track storms using in-game radar systems, and experience dynamic tornadic events.
Twisted is a first-/third-person storm-chasing experience (player camera modes depend on the server and place settings) in which players explore a large open map, observe and document severe weather, and interact with weather systems. Players may drive vehicles, coordinate with other players, and use in-game radar tools to locate and intercept convective storms and tornadoes. The game emphasizes realistic radar interpretation (reflectivity and base velocity), storm structure recognition (hook echoes, debris balls), and the experience of being near major convective events.
The game map represents the fictional state of Keysota. It contains three counties with numerous towns and settlements; the three largest cities are Hazelton, Viroqua, and Hibbing. The southwest portion of the map contains several lakes; a river originates from a large lake in the northeast. The western edge of the map contains rolling hills and forests, while much of the remainder is relatively flat farmland with scattered tree lines.
A smaller variant, "Twisted Lite", contains a condensed version of the full map suitable for devices or servers with lower performance.
Twisted features an in-game radar interface with multiple products to help locate and analyze storms:
There are two radar sites on the map:
Twisted simulates multiple tornadic phenomena and stages, from funnel clouds to mature tornadoes. Tornadoes in the game can present visually as rope, cone, wedge, or stovepipe shapes depending on intensity and environmental factors. When tornadoes impact populated areas, a high-reflectivity "debris ball" may appear on reflectivity radar indicating debris lofting.
Twisted was developed by Willzuh and Siryzm, who have previously worked on other storm-chasing and tornado simulation titles on Roblox such as Tornado Simulator 3 and Storm Tracker Remastered. The game launched on December 30, 2020. (Further development notes, updates, and patch history may be added as sources become available.)
Twisted averages around 3,000 players per session, with a total of over 100 million visits.
