Overview

Tikamoon is a French furniture retailer headquartered in Englos, Northern France. Founded in 2008, the company designs and distributes furniture primarily made of solid wood. Historically an online-only retailer, it began opening physical stores in France and Germany in 2023.

History

The company was founded in 2008 by Xavier Vincent, initially selling furniture on eBay before launching its own e-commerce platform in 2012.[1].

In 2015, the Adeo Group acquired the company, and management was taken over by Arnaud Vanpoperinghe and Thibault Deslorieux.[2] In May 2021, Vanpoperinghe and Deslorieux regained independence from Adeo through a management buyout supported by the investment fund Edmond de Rothschild Equity Strategies (ERES).[3]

In 2023, the investment group LFPI acquired a minority stake to support the brand's international expansion and the rollout of physical retail stores.[4]

Operations

Tikamoon specializes in furniture made of solid wood, such as teak, oak, and acacia. The company relies on a network of partner workshops in Asia, Eastern Europe, and France.[5]

Originally a pure player, the company opened its first permanent physical stores in 2023 in Paris and Lille, as well as its first international store in Hamburg, Germany.[6][7] The brand also operates retail spaces within Printemps department stores in France.
