Sulpak is the largest Kazakhstani retail chain of home appliance and electronics stores, operating in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The brand was founded in Almaty in 1992.
According to Forbes Kazakhstan in 2025, the chain comprised more than 200 stores in over 100 localities across Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, with the company's head office located in Almaty.[1] Since 2014, Sulpak has been a member of the international purchasing cooperative Euronics International.[2]
Sulpak was founded in Almaty in 1992.
In 1995, the formation of the Sulpak brand and the development of its retail network began, and in 2001 the first electronics hypermarket was opened.[3]
In 2007, Sulpak opened what was then the largest electronics hypermarket in the country.[3]
In 2009, the online store Sulpak.kz was launched.[4][3]
According to Forbes Kazakhstan, following a change of ownership and management around 2010, which brought in managers with prior experience at the Russian retail chain Eldorado, the company's revenue grew from approximately US$142 million in 2010 to US$496 million in 2012, the number of stores increased from 40 to 57, and by the end of 2012 the company held an estimated 37% share of the market among major electronics and household appliance retailers.[5]
In May 2014, Arena S LLP, operating under the Sulpak brand, signed an agreement to join Euronics International.[2]
In 2018, the company opened its first store in an updated format.[3]
In 2022, Sulpak marked its 30th anniversary. According to the company's official timeline, the chain had 198 stores by that time, and a new distribution center was launched in Astana.[3]
According to Digital Business, the company's name was derived from parts of the surnames of its founders, Almas Sultangazin and Andrei Pak.[6]
According to the Forbes Kazakhstan ranking "75 Largest Private Companies of Kazakhstan — 2025," Arena S LLP (Sulpak) ranked 15th. The company's 2024 revenue was reported at 331.7 billion tenge.[1]

In 2014, Sulpak joined Euronics International, an international association of home appliance and electronics retail companies.[2] Sulpak's membership in Euronics is also noted in Forbes Kazakhstan rankings.[1]
Sulpak serves as an honorary partner of the Almaty Marathon. In 2024, Tengrinews.kz listed Sulpak among the event's sponsors and partners.[9] In 2025, Digital Business also named Sulpak among the companies supporting the Almaty Marathon.[10]
The official Almaty Marathon website also referred to Sulpak as an honorary partner in materials about the sixth edition of the marathon.[11]
