Star Garden is an upcoming racing and pet simulator game developed by American indie game developer Game Garage. Inspired by the Chao Garden in the Sonic the Hedgehog series and Kirby Air Ride (2003), the player controls Leo or Lyra who find themselves stranded on a planet called Solaris where they raise cosmic pets named Lumi who can evolve into vehicles they can ride on.
A demo of the game was released on Steam in September 2025 alongside a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, receiving positive reception.
Gameplay
Development and release
Star Garden is the debut game of indie game developer Game Garage. The game originally started off as an idea on Matt Mannheimer around 2020-2021 before YouTuber Chaomix work on the game as director after hearing about it in a TooManyGames convention. Game Garage would be formed, and the game started development. During development, the developers were directly inspired by the Chao Garden, a virtual pet minigame featured in Sonic Adventure & Sonic Adventure 2 that Sonic fans were desperate to Sega or Sonic Team using the minigame.[1]
