SpreeAI is a fashion technology company that develops artificial intelligence software for virtual clothing try-on and apparel size recommendations. Its software produces images of a shopper or a preset model wearing selected clothing and accessories.[1][2]

History

According to Inc., John Imah said that the idea for SpreeAI developed after a 2022 trip to Europe, where he met with fashion executives about online sales, returns, and personalization.[1] A 2023 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission identified Imah as an executive officer and listed Incline Village, Nevada, as the company's principal place of business at the time.[3] Inc. later described Imah as the company's co-founder and chief executive officer.[1] It also listed Naomi Campbell, Robert M. Davidson, Lisa Kim Park, and Lawrence Ruvo as directors.[3]

The same filing reported that the company had sold $5 million of a planned $10 million equity offering to one investor, with the first sale recorded in November 2023.[3] In 2025, Inc. reported that SpreeAI had reached a valuation of $1.5 billion.[1] TechCrunch, citing PitchBook, also included SpreeAI among startups that first exceeded $1 billion in valuation during 2025.[4]

Technology

The virtual try-on system accepts a photograph taken or uploaded by a shopper, or uses a preset model, and produces an image of that person wearing a selected garment or accessory.[1][2] Inc. reported that users would be able to view the generated result from multiple angles.[1] The software also provides apparel size recommendations and automated styling suggestions.[2]

In December 2025, Inc. reported that the product was not yet available to shoppers and identified Google and True Fit as competitors in virtual try-on and apparel sizing.[1] The Washington Post discussed SpreeAI in a 2025 report about artificial intelligence at New York Fashion Week. The report considered the company alongside AI products from Google and Ralph Lauren and raised broader doubts about whether virtual try-on systems could represent garment fit exactly.[2]

Fashion partnerships

Inc. identified Sergio Hudson and Kai Collective as two of the fashion brands working with SpreeAI in 2025.[1] In January 2026, California Apparel News reported that SpreeAI and Hudson had partnered to apply sizing and personalization technology to direct-to-consumer luxury fashion.[5]
