Shea Lolin is a British conductor, clarinettist and recording producer. His work has focused on wind ensembles and woodwind orchestra performance, alongside roles in music education, recording production and arts administration.[1]
Lolin studied at Colchester Institute from 2001 to 2004, specialising in clarinet, piano, composition and conducting.[2]
During this period, he performed as Principal Clarinet in college ensembles and received internal performance awards.[3]
Lolin has worked as a conductor, tutor and ensemble leader in the United Kingdom, including work with wind ensembles and clarinet choirs.[4]
He has also worked in music education and ensemble development projects in the UK.[5]
From 2005 to 2021, Lolin was Director of Music of the Bloomsbury Woodwind Ensemble.[6]
The ensemble performed at venues including St John’s Smith Square and LSO St Luke’s in London.[7]
Lolin worked with composers including Ruth Young, Alan Bullard, Martin Ellerby and Judith Bingham on commissioned works and arrangements for woodwind ensemble.[8]
Since 2014, Lolin has worked as a recording producer on orchestral and wind repertoire projects.[9]
He has contributed to commercially released recordings with independent classical labels.[10]
In 2015, Lolin was involved in the release of Twisted Skyscape, a recording of woodwind ensemble repertoire.[11]
Chromosphere was released in 2024 and featured on BBC Radio 3 programmes including Record Review.[12]
The recording was reviewed in Gramophone magazine.[13]
Frisson was released in 2026 on Divine Art Records and includes recordings with professional orchestral wind players.[14]
Lolin has worked in music administration and arts projects in the United Kingdom, including roles involving ensemble development and event organisation.[15]
He has also worked as a church organist and adjudicator for music festivals in the UK.[16]
