Shane Chandaria Bhagesh (born 23 December 2009) is a Kenyan racing driver who is set to compete in the 2026 French F4 Championship. He is the winner of the 2025 F4 Indian Championship.
He started club karting at the Great Rift Valley Circuit, which was close to Nairobi. Chandaria was successful in Kenyan karting due to the small competitor pool and he took the national title in 2022.[1] In 2024 and 2025, he began competing in the British Kart Championship and came thirty-seventh in his rookie year. He only contested the first three rounds of the championship in his sophomore year and ended the season fourtieth in the standings.[2]
Chandaria made his Formula 4 debut in the 2025 F4 Indian Championship for Chennai Turbo Riders after missing out on a seat in the Indian F4 Global Shootout Program.[3][4] He finished on the podium in the first race of the season at Kari Motor Speedway.[5] In the second round at Madras International Circuit, he retired from the first race and claimed his maiden pole position and win in the third race.[6][7]
He collected two more pole positions in the first and third race of the third round also held at the Kari Motor Speedway.[8] His pole position in the first race was inherited to Itsuki Sato, after the Kenyan got a five-second penalty but still kept the two points. Chandaria won the second race and came third in the fourth race.[9][10] The fourth round was held at Kari Motor Speedway, for the third consecutive time in the series. Chandaria claimed both pole positions and converted them to a third place and a win in the first and third races, respectively.[11][12]
In the fifth and final round of the series at Madras International Circuit, he got one final pole in the first race which he converted to a second place, and a third place in the last race.[13] He won the title with three wins, five pole positions, five fastest laps, eight podiums and 187 points. Chandaria became the first Kenyan to win a FIA-sanctioned single-seater series.[14][15]
He will be competing in the 2026 French F4 Championship, becoming the first Kenyan to compete in the series. Chandaria scored his first points in the opening round at Nogaro, coming ninth and tenth in the second and third races.
