  • Comment: This is a poorly formatted and non-neutral resume. Before we can even begin to look at notability this needs to be cleaned up--and the sources and their citations need careful pruning and copy editing. Drmies (talk) 16:48, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Sarah Porter is a British technology entrepreneur and conference organiser. She is the founder and chief executive of InspiredMinds!, an artificial intelligence and emerging technology community, and the founder of the World Summit AI conference series.

Porter has also been involved in initiatives supporting women in technology and was involved in efforts to evacuate members of the Afghan Girls Robotics Team during the 2021 fall of Kabul. [1] Her fundraising work supporting Afghan women and girls later received media coverage after she withdrew from a UK ultramarathon in 2026 following threats to her safety.[2]

Career

Porter began her career in radio broadcasting, working as an editor and presenter on BBC radio programmes focusing on health-related topics.

Porter later founded the artificial intelligence community InspiredMinds! and established the technology conference World Summit AI, first held in Amsterdam. The conference has been covered as part of the European technology events calendar.[3]

In 2024, InspiredMinds! and its associated conference portfolio was acquired by Growth Capitalist Partners.[4]

Porter has also spoken publicly on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, including delivering a public lecture at Canterbury Christ Church University.[5]

In July 2024 she appeared on the radio programme ''Tonight with Andrew Marr'' on LBC to discuss developments in artificial intelligence.[6]

Humanitarian work

During the fall of Kabul in 2021, Porter was involved in efforts to evacuate members of the Afghan Girls Robotics Team and other Afghan nationals. Reporting later stated that more than 250 individuals were assisted through the evacuation effort.[7]

In January 2026, Porter withdrew from a UK ultramarathon after receiving death threats linked to her fundraising activities supporting women and girls in Afghanistan.[8][9]

Recognition

Porter has been named in the "Computer Weekly" list of the United Kingdom's Most Influential Women in Technology, in both 2022[10] and 2024.[11]

She was also a finalist in the Women in Tech Global Awards in the "Women in Tech Ally" category.[12]
