• Comment: For architects, the main route seems to be via detailed profiles in independent journals. A profile of the practice rather than the building. If there is, within a building article, significant coverage of the practice this will work too. But a heap of photos of buildings isn't going to cut the mustard. Have a look at Charles Wright (architect) to see how it can be done: it doesn't need to be that long/detailed, but look at how the first half dozen sources were used to support the practice's notability. SOUP Architects is a British architectural practice founded in 2012. It is based in London, with a second studio in St Peter Port, Guernsey. The practice is listed as a RIBA Chartered Practice and works on residential, heritage and commercial projects in the United Kingdom and Guernsey.^[1][2][3]

SOUP Architects Ltd was incorporated on 30 January 2012.^[4] The practice was founded by Max Babbé, Jamie Le Gallez and Patrick Walls.^[1][5] By 2026 it operated from Studio 201, 1 Thane Villas in London and from the Digital Greenhouse on Market Street in St Peter Port.^[3]

The practice's published profile describes its work as including new-build houses, extensions and renovations, heritage and protected buildings, residential developments and commercial projects.^[2] Much of its published work has been residential, with projects in England and Guernsey appearing in architectural publications including RIBAJ and ArchDaily.^{[6][7][8][9][10][11]}

In 2015, The Modern House Journal profiled the practice in its "Architect of the Week" series. In 2019, the same publication included SOUP in a feature on eco architects in the United Kingdom.^[5][12]

Among projects by the practice that have been published by architectural media are The Oaks in Richmond upon Thames, Broombank in Aldeburgh, The Studios in Aldeburgh, Oatlands Close in Surrey, and Longis View House in Guernsey.^{[9][10][7][8][11]}

Projects by the practice have received several regional awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects. Broombank won a RIBA East Award in 2014, Embercourt won a RIBA South East Award in 2014, The Studios won a RIBA East Award in 2015, and Oatlands Close won a RIBA South East Award in 2018; RIBAJ identified Oatlands Close as the Regional Small Project of the Year.^{[13][14][15][16][8]}

The practice has also received awards at the Guernsey Design Awards. In 2020 Le Prinsaeu won the Heritage and People's Choice categories. In 2024 The Northern Ramparts won the Single Residential New Build category and the Mitch Sneddon Professionals' Choice award, while Resolution IT Office won the Office Fit Out category.^[17][18][19]
