Purlie was an American rock band based in Los Angeles, active in the early 1970s. The group signed with Capitol Records in 1973.[1]

History

In 1973, Purlie released the single "Burgerette" on Capitol Records. The song was written by Johnny Garcia and Joseph Arias.

The band was featured in Tiger Beat magazine in 1973 in an editorial profile introducing emerging recording artists.[2]

Purlie also received industry coverage in The Hollywood Reporter in August 1973, where the group’s live performance was reviewed in the publication’s nightclub section.[3]
