Pointcarre is a textile computer-aided design (CAD) software developed by Pointcarre SARL, a company based in Rennes, France. The company was founded in 1987 by Olivier Masson.[1]
Pointcarre SARL was founded on 1 December 1987 and is based in Rennes.[1] Freddy Brault later became manager of the company.
In the early 2010s, the company reported that most of its output was exported, including exports to the United States.[2]
Between 2017 and 2019, Pointcarre software was used by the British design studio Dash & Miller to prepare the Game of Thrones Tapestry, a hand-woven Jacquard tapestry based on the television series.[3]
The panels were woven on a TC2 hand-operated Jacquard loom and later embroidered at the Ulster Museum in Belfast.[4]
Pointcarre software has been included in textile design software coursework, including at North Carolina State University.[5]
