The Pagganwala family is a political family from Gujrat District, Punjab, Pakistan. Members of the family have been associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and have participated in electoral and party politics in the region since the 1970s.

The Pagganwala family was a political rival of the Chaudhry family in Gujrat District. The rivalry began during electoral contests between Mian Mushtaq Hussain Pagganwala and Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi and continued in subsequent elections. In later years, political relations between members of the two families included periods of cooperation within shifting local political alignments.[2][3][4]
Mian Mushtaq Hussain Pagganwala was a Pakistani politician associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party. He served as president of the PPP in Gujrat District and was elected to the National Assembly in the 1977 general election. He remained active in party politics until his death in 2008.[5][6][7][8]
Abdul Rasheed Pagganwala, a member of the family, was elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly in 1985 and represented Gujrat in provincial politics.[9][10]
Samina Mushtaq Pagganwala is a Pakistani politician who served as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013 on a reserved seat for women representing Punjab under the Pakistan Peoples Party. She served as Parliamentary Secretary for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan during her tenure.[11][12][13][14]
Mian Pervez Akhtar Pagganwala served as Union Council Nazim in Gujrat in 2001 and 2005. He was previously associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and later joined the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q).[15][16][17][18]
Mian Fakhar Mushtaq Pagganwala has served in organizational positions within the PPP in Gujrat and has contested elections from the district.[19][20][21][22][23]
Within the Pakistan Peoples Party in Gujrat, local reporting has described the presence of district-level political groups, including those associated with the Pagganwala and Kaira families. In 2020, representatives of these groups announced a reconciliation within the party organization.[24][25][26]
