O2B Kids, owned by parent company O2B Early Education, is a nationally accredited, Florida-based Preschool and Afterschool company. It offers care for children 0-13, as well as Summer Camp and Specialty Classes.[1]
O2B Kids was founded in 1998 in Gainesville, Florida by University of Florida Alumni Andy Sherrard and Danny Stevens.[2]
The first O2B Kids location, the Supercenter, was opened on Newberry Road in a 34,000-square-foot building. Sherrard and Stevens spent 3 years planning the Supercenter, and visited over 100 different location options. They opened their sixth location in Fleming Island in 2006.[3]In October 2021, the original Supercenter location was moved into a brand-new 27,000-square-foot facility. The new flagship location opened to the public at Markets West on Tower Road, across from Oak Hall on October 14.[4]
As of October 2025, O2B Kids now operates several locations across Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Missouri, Alabama, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Illinois.[5]
O2B Kids provides preschool education, infant and toddler care, voluntary pre-kindergarten (VPK in Florida, GA Pre-K in Georgia), and afterschool enrichment.
O2B Kids uses their own proprietary curriculum, Funnydaffer, to make children kindergarten-ready. Funnydaffer uses play-based learning, and the lessons change each week. Lessons plans include academic milestones, such as letters, numbers, colors and shapes, as well as skills like reading and fine/gross motor skills.[6]
In 2018, the nonprofit Gainesville’s Southwest Advocacy Group (SWAG) opened the CHILD Center for Early Learning, tapping O2B Kids to run the day-day operations. They're also partnered with the Anita Zucker Center at the University of Florida, which will bring people into the classroom to share with teachers the best way to work with students.[7]
In May 2019, O2B expanded outside of Florida by acquiring the 2 schools of Brookside Academy in Georgia.[8]
In December 2019, O2B entered the Palm Beach market by acquiring Home Away From Home, with 5 schools in Palm Beach County and 1 in Orlando.
In January 2022, O2B entered the Minnesota region with its acquisition of Children of Tomorrow, 4 preschools in Carver County, Minnesota.[9]
In February 2022, O2B acquired the Cedars Preschool brand in Georgia, 8 schools operating in the greater Atlanta region.[10] Cedars Preschool continues to operate under the Cedars branding, and brand now has 15 Cedars schools as of October 2025.
In August 2023, O2B announced its 51st school after acquiring Discovery Point Trouble Creek, now O2B Kids New Port Richey.[11]
In September 2023, O2B acquired 6 locations: Bright Start Academy in St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri.[12]
In August 2024, O2B expanded its Minnesota market by entering Rochester, MN.
In May 2025, O2B expanded into North Dakota when it acquired 2 Bright Futures Learning Center schools.[13]
In August 2025, O2B announced it's 12th Tampa Bay location at Tampa General Hospital.[14]
