  • Comment: No indication of how this is notable. Two sources is also not enough to establish notability. You need more reliable, secondary sources independent from the subject that cover it in significant depth. Rambley (talk / contribs) 22:03, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

Nitro Type is a free-to-use typing game developed by Teaching.com. It was released on September 8, 2011.

Gameplay

In the game, the player races up to four other players, and in order for their car to run, they must type sentences that are displayed in a box under the race track. The faster a player types, the faster the car goes. If a player misses a key, or types a wrong key, the car stops until the correct key is typed. During the race, a player can skip one word by typing the enter key.

After a race, a player earns money based on how they place. This can be used to obtain cars, trails, and other in-game loot.[1] In addition to earning money from races, the player also earns XP, which contributes to event perk progress and can help complete even achievements. Prior to events returning on May 11, 2025, XP leveled a player up through seasons. Each level gave a certain reward, including money, cars, trails, stickers, titles, nitros, and name tags. This is similar to events, however rewards now have specific criteria (eg. winning a set amount of races) rather than being solely XP based.

Players can choose to purchase "Nitro Gold", which includes benefits such as access to exclusive cars and advertisement free playing experience for $10 USD.
