Mo Bobat is an English cricket administrator who serves as the Director of Cricket for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Indian Premier League replacing by Mike Hesson in 2023..^[1]. He also Director of Cricket for London Spirits in The Hundred^[2]. He previously worked for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for 12 years, including as Performance Director, where he played a key role in 2019 Cricket World Cup^[3] and 2022 T20 cricket World cup Victories^[4]

Bobat is a former physical education teacher from Leicester who played club cricket.^[3]. He studied sports science and management and was completing a Master's degree in sporting directorship at the time of his promotion to ECB Performance Director in 2019^[3]

Bonat joined in 2011, initially managing the England's Men's Under-19 programme.^[5]. In 2016, he was appointed the ECB's first player identification lead^[5][3]

In October 2019, Bobat was promoted to Performance Director for England Men's cricket succeeding David Parsons.^[3]. At the time of his appointment, ECB Managing Director Ashley Giles stated that Bobat would be "responsible for Identifying our highest potential players and leading programmes that will bridge the gap between county and international cricket^[3]

As Performance Director, Bobat worked with managing director Rob Key.^[4]

Under Bobat leadership, RCB won their maiden IPL title in June 2025, defeating Punjab Kings in the final.^[8]. Following the victory, he urged his players to "get addicted to winning"^[8]. The franchise defended it's title in 2026, with head coach Andy Flower crediting Bobat's talent identification system as a key factor^[6]

In August 2025, Bobat was appointed Director of Cricket for London Spirits in The Hundred cricket league, taking up the role on 1 October 2025.^[9][2]
