Marcus Proctor Jensen
Marcus Proctor Jensen (born August 21, 1991) is an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) for the Tampa Bay Rays organization. He was selected by the Rays in the 30th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft.
Early life and education
Jensen was born in Richmond, Texas, and attended Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He developed as a pitcher during his high school years, gaining recognition for his height, arm strength, and right-handed delivery.
Professional career
Jensen was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2009 and began his professional career in the Rays’ minor league system. Over several seasons, he played for multiple affiliates, including the Gulf Coast Rays, Princeton Rays, Hudson Valley Renegades, Bowling Green Hot Rods, and Charlotte Stone Crabs.
He primarily served as a relief pitcher, appearing in a variety of roles including middle relief and occasional starting assignments. Jensen was known for his consistency and ability to handle multiple innings when needed.
One of his notable achievements came in 2012, when he was named a New York–Penn League Mid-Season All-Star while playing for the Hudson Valley Renegades.
Jensen remained in the Rays organization through the 2014 season before being released.
