Mandy Meisner (born February 5, 1975) is an American county commissioner. She is an Anoka County Commissioner representing District 7, which comprises the cities of Columbia Heights, Fridley, and Hilltop. Anoka County is one of the seven counties that make up the Twin Cities, Minnesota, metropolitan area and the fourth largest county by population in Minnesota. She was first elected in 2018.
She is the first Asian American elected to the Anoka County Board of Commissioners and one of the first two women of color elected as county commissioners in Minnesota, along with Hennepin County Commissioner Irene Fernando.[1] [2] She was re-elected in 2024 to a third term. Meisner currently is vice chair of the board and serves on 22 county, regional and state committees.[3] She chairs Anoka County's Management (personnel) and Human Services committees.[4]
Meisner was recognized by ABC Newspapers for making a difference in politics during Women’s History Month.[5]
As a commissioner, she challenged the hiring practice that lead to former Anoka County Commission Board Chairwoman Rhonda Sivarajah to be the county administrator without either an internal or external search.[6][7][8][9] Instead she pushed the board to adopt a best practice to post top staff positions internally and externally.[10][11] Meisner advocated for giving the public the opportunity to speak at county board meetings, which was not allowed at regular board meetings.[12][13] She advocated for a code of conduct for the entire board to combat abuse of power after one county commissioner was accused of harassing county employees. [14][15][16]
Meisner grew up in Cloquet, Minn., and graduated from the Perpich Center for Arts Education, Golden Valley, Minn., in 1993 studying classical music.[17]

Meisner starred in Miss INNdependent, a reality TV series that followed nine women who bought a historic 1858 house in Excelsior, Minnesota, and renovated it into a modern vacation rental property. The show was nominated for a 2022 Upper Midwest Chapter Day Time Emmy award.[21] The show, which aired on Five Eyewitness News, follows their journey to transform the property into a modern vacation rental and event venue.[22]
Meisner advocates for the arts and sits on the National Association of Counties Arts & Culture Committee,[23] and dances with the Ballet Co. Laboratory.[24]
