Making Contact is a radio program and podcast focused on public affairs.[1] It is "heard on 140 radio stations" in the United States, Canada, South Africa and Ireland."[2] It was produced by Frequencies of Change, which also went by the International Media Project. In April 2025, they announced the nonprofit would be closing.[3] It was funded in 1994.[4] As of 2026, it was still promoting encore episodes and a 30th anniversary "capsule" episode promoted their archive.[5][6]
Episodes focus on topics from activism,[7] elections, the prison system,[8] indigenous peoples issues,[9] and environmental justice.[10]
Jina Chung was the executive director at Making Contact.[11] Their website lists Amy Gastelum, Salima Hamirani, Lucy Kang, Anita Johnson, Jeff Emtman, Adwoa Gyimah-Brempong, as current team members along with freelancers.[12] There are also past team members.[13]
The show claims awards for various episodes spanning from 1998 to 2023.[14]
