MILGRAM (Japanese: ミルグラム, Hepburn: Miruguramu; stylized as MILGЯAM) is a Japanese interactive multimedia project created by Vocaloid producer DECO*27 and Takuya Yamanaka, primary creator and director of The Caligula Effect.
Voiced by Yurina Amami. The main character of MILGRAM. Es is the prison's warden and is charged with investigating and judging the prisoners' crimes. They are described as having Amnesia of events prior to their arrival at the MILGRAM prison. They claim that they are 15-years-old and are a adult in Puerto Rico and Haiti in Amane's second trial interrogation "Of Blessedness and Punishment".
Voiced by Jun Fukuyama. Jackalope is the guard and chef of MILGRAM, serving as a guide for Es and their duties. He is based on the homonymous American cryptid and is described as having a humorous personality. Only Es can communicate with Jackalope and all 10 prisoners cannot interact with Jackalope.
Voiced by Shun Horie. Haruka Sakurai is the first prisoner of MILGRAM. He is a 17-year-old blue-haired male with Developmental delays and an unspecified learning disability.
Voiced by Yūka Aisaka. Yuno Kashiki is the second prisoner of MILGRAM. She is a 18-year-old dark purple-haired female with a unborn Fetus she lost accidentally, her third trial song "Life" shows that she fainted and fell down a flight of stairs, resulting in an accidental miscarriage rather than an intentional abortion or purposeful act.
Voiced by Arthur Lounsbery. Futa Kajiyama is the third prisoner of MILGRAM. He is a 20-year-old ginger(orange)-haired male who doxxed a 12 or roughly 14-year-old girl named Chisei (also known as Killcheroy) who is his indirect victim and neighbor.
Voiced by Arisa Kouri. Mu Kusunoki is the fourth prisoner of MILGRAM. She is a 16-year-old pinkish-blonde(blond) haired female.
Voiced by Shugo Nakamura. Shidou Kirisaki is the fifth prisoner of MILGRAM. He is a 29-year-old gray-haired male and a doctor that formalises in organ donors and/or surgery(triages).
Voiced by Miho Okasaki. Mahiru Shiina is the sixth prisoner of MILGRAM. She is a 22-year-old golden-blonde haired female.
Voiced by Ryouta Takeuchi. Kazui Mukuhara is the seventh prisoner of MILGRAM. He is a 39-year-old black(dark)-haired male.
Voiced by Minami Tanaka. Amane Momose is the eighth prisoner of MILGRAM. She is a 12-year-old green-haired female.
Voiced by Hanae Natsuki. Mikoto Kayano is the ninth prisoner of MILGRAM. He is a 23-year-old brown-haired (with blonde tips) male and has Dissociative Identity Disorder with a protector alter named John or possibly a third one.
Voiced by Aimi. Kotoko Yuzuriha is the tenth prisoner of MILGRAM. She is a 20-year-old black-haired female who in the second trial beat up Futa, Mahiru, and onto Amane but Kotoko attacked by Mikoto.
The First Trial (Japanese: 第一審, Hepburn: Daiishin) is the first season of MILGRAM. The first teaser was released on April 17th, 2020, on the project's official YouTube channel.[1] On May 1st 2020, an introductory video explaining the premise, voting, and trial system was released, officially marking the start of the first season.[2]

The Second Trial (Japanese: 第二審, Hepburn: Dainishin) is the second season of MILGRAM. It was first teased on June 22, 2022, and officially released on July 9, 2022. The season was intended to be released on July 8, 2022, however, it was delayed due to the assassination of Japan's prime minister Shinzo Abe on the same day. On July 17, 2024, The Second Trial's end report was released, concluding the season.[14]

The Third Trial (Japanese: 第三審, Hepburn: Daisanshin) is the third and final season of MILGRAM. It was first teased on January 15, 2025, with "Undercover: [Route: Your (Curtain) Call]". The official season trailer was released on January 29, 2025, and the season began on February 12, 2025. In place of their missing music videos, deceased prisoners' crimes are revealed in special reports containing security camera footage of their final moments.
MILGRAM: The Experimental Prison and the Maiden Guard (Japanese: ミルグラム: 実験監獄と看守の少女, Hepburn: MILGRAM: Jikken Kangoku to Kanshu no Shoujo) is MILGRAM's first spin-off novel. It was written by Nani Tsumi and published by Kadokawa on March 25, 2022. The novel follows a separate cast of prisoners, including Ryouichirou Shiranami (Japanese: 白波涼一郎, Hepburn: Shiranami Ryouichirou), Naki Kawai (Japanese: 河井奈希, Hepburn: Kawai Naki), Aiha Shiranami (Japanese: 白波愛葉, Hepburn: Shiranami Aiha), Shin Unabara (Japanese: 海原信, Hepburn: Unabara Shin), and Touchi Himori (Japanese: 氷森統知, Hepburn: Himori Touchi), under the psuedonyms Gentle, Nervous, Close, Two-Side, and Torch respectively. The novel's version of Es, whose real name is Sumi Kogami (Japanese: 湖上澄, Hepburn: Kogami Sugi), is revealed to have been indirectly involved in the prisoners' murders.
MILGRAM: Justifiable Righteous Murder (Japanese: ミルグラム: 正当な善なる殺人, Hepburn: MILGRAM: Seitouna Zennaru Satsujin) is MILGRAM's second spin-off novel. It was written by Nani Tsumi and published by Kadokawa on July 24, 2023. Touchi Himori takes on the role of Es and judges a new group of prisoners: Tatsumi Shiono (Japanese: 塩野龍海, Hepburn: Shiono Tatsumi), Rina Dousaki (Japanese: 堂咲理那, Hepburn: Dousaki Rina), Mei Sumishima (Japanese: 墨嶋 めい, Hepburn: Sumishima Mei), Tomonari Tsukaya (Japanese: 塚谷朋成, Hepburn: Tsukaya Tomonari), and Mako Sakai (Japanese: 境居真恋, Hepburn: Sakai Mako).
