Luisa Colón is an American author, journalist, illustrator, and actor of Latinx heritage.[1] She appeared in the 2006 film Day Night Day Night under the screen name Luisa Williams.[2] Colón is the daughter of stateside Puerto Rican comics artist Ernie Colón.[3]

Career

Colón's journalistic and literary work has appeared in numerous publications, including New York Magazine,[4] The New York Times,[5] Vulture,[6] and McSweeney's Internet Tendency.[7]

In 2006, Colón played the lead role of a suicide bomber in the independent film Day Night Day Night.[8][9] For her performance, she was nominated for a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Actor.[10] In 2007, she starred in Anna, a short film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu that featured in the anthology film Chacun Son Cinéma.[11][12]

Colón is also a fiction writer specializing in the horror genre. She authored the novels Bad Moon Rising (2023),[13] The Burning Class (2025),[14] and Kinderlieb (2026).[15]
