Lepton Software (legally Lepton Software Export & Research Private Limited) is an Indian geospatial technology and location intelligence company headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana. The company provides geographic information system (GIS) software and consulting services to telecommunications operators, government agencies, and enterprises across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.[1]
History
Lepton Software Export & Research Private Limited was incorporated in 1994 under the Companies Act 1956,[2] and began commercial operations in 1998 as a geographic information system solutions provider for the Indian telecommunications sector.[citation needed]
The company became an authorised Google Maps Premier Partner in 2010[1] and holds reseller and partnership agreements with Precisely (formerly Pitney Bowes Software) for its MapInfo Pro platform; in 2017, Lepton received Pitney Bowes' "Strongest Partner – India" award at the company's EMEA Partner Conference in Barcelona.[3]
In 2023, the company entered a joint venture with Nigel Lester, former Managing Director of Pitney Bowes Software for Australia and New Zealand, to form Melbourne-based The Spatial Distillery Co., which distributes Lepton's products in Australia and New Zealand.[4] In 2024, Lepton's FTTx Geo Mapping Suite was added to Nokia's Altiplano Application Marketplace for fibre-network operators.[5]

Google Maps Platform reselling
As a Google Maps Platform Premier Partner since 2010, Lepton resells Google Maps Platform APIs to enterprise customers in India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, providing implementation, custom development, and technical support services.[1]
RoadEase
RoadEase is a mobile application Lepton developed for traffic-police departments. It allows authorities to publish information about road closures, traffic incidents, and diversions, which is then surfaced on Google Maps within approximately 15 minutes.[6][7] The application has been deployed by the Greater Chennai Police[6] and the Faridabad Traffic Police.[7]
TraffiCure
TraffiCure is a software-only traffic-intelligence platform Lepton launched in 2025 for government agencies and city traffic authorities. The platform uses aggregated Google Maps movement data to provide congestion alerts, road-level analytics, and performance reports without requiring camera or sensor infrastructure. In February 2026, the Pune City Traffic Policeadopted TraffiCure in collaboration with Google India.[8]
Notable deployments
Vodafone India
Vodafone India deployed SmartFeasibility, a Google Maps–based system co-developed with Lepton that automated the manual feasibility-check process used in enterprise broadband sales. According to a Google Cloud customer case study, the deployment increased Vodafone India's feasibility-check capacity by approximately 15 times.[9]
Delhi cluster bus service
In 2021, Google partnered with the Delhi Transport Department, the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS), the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, and Lepton Software to provide real-time arrival information for approximately 3,000 Delhi cluster buses on Google Maps.[10][11]
BluSmart
BluSmart , an Indian all-electric ride-hailing service, integrates Google Maps Platform geospatial data through Lepton for in-app navigation and trip routing.[1]
