kvemari (stylized in all lowercase) is a Canadian rapper, singer-songwriter and record producer from Brampton, Ontario, based in Toronto, Ontario. After posting numerous songs on BandLab, he began releasing music on major streaming platforms in 2025.
Born in Brampton, Ontario, Kkaydes had spent his childhood in Toronto. He began writing music during online learning and soon started his music career on BandLab under the name Lil KJ.
kvemari born was in Brampton, Ontario, to two Jamaican parents. His mother would name him after "Jeremiah", a biblical prophet that appeared in the Hebrew Bible. He grew up without his biological father who was in jail, and was raised by his step-father and mother, both of which would domestically abuse him and his siblings. In middle school, during music classes, he'd learn how to play instruments such as the guitar, piano or the xylophone. He started producing music around the age of ten. He often listened to hip-hop after him and his friend started collaborating on songs; he started listening to Hip-hop. Later he would give a chance to R&B and listen more often when he reached high school. kvemari attended Bramalea Secondary School.
Before the beginning of his official musical career, kvemari had initially aspired to be a gamer. In 2020, he began his musical career under the moniker Lil KJ, while uploading his tracks to BandLab. He would go on hiatus, and later return in 2025,[2] switching to producing instrumentals.[2] Releasing his first official songs in almost five years, "Tonight",[1] and "Not My Idea".[3][4] In early 2025, Kkaydes would record his first music video,[5] and upload snippets of new songs.
He has British and possible white ancestry. Kkaydes has four younger half-siblings, and is the only child between both his parents, two on his mother's side—two younger brothers; and two on his father's side—a younger brother and sister. Around age eleven, Kkaydes was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
He has referred to multiple artists as his biggest influences; XXXTentacion, Brent Faiyaz, Juice Wrld. Also citing artists such as Bryson Tiller. He would explain that his interest in music would further expand after listening to songs from artists such Juice Wrld and XXXTentacion
