Innovative colour sphere to aid in colour education
Kolormondo is a three-dimensional color model and educational tool, illustrating relationships between hue, saturation, and lightness in a spherical form. It is used in design, education, and color-related industries.
History
Kolormondo was developed in the early 2010s by Swedish entrepreneur Nicoline Kinch. Inspired by traditional color models and the idea of creating a more intuitive representation of color overcoming the limitations of two-dimensional color charts. Kinch collaborated with industrial designer Jonas Ahnmé and graphic designer Daniel Bjugård to develop a 3D globe based on CMY (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow). The name “Kolormondo” comes from Esperanto and means “world of color.”

The system uses subtractive primaries (cyan, magenta, yellow). The structure allows users to examine complimentary colors, color families, gradients, relationships and understanding Color Theory, that are difficult to visualize in a two-dimensional chart[2][3].
The globe can be built and disassembled, allowing the user to repeatedly examine internal color relationships.
