• Comment: The article still has issues regarding referencing. In particular, social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc are not considered reliable sources, and as such should not be used. Maybe go through and cut those references which will also make it easier for reviewers to check the remaining references to see if they establish notability - the several references I clicked through on were all interviews - unfortunately, in order to prove notability, an article needs to references 2-3 sources which are reliable, independent, secondary sources, which talk about the subject of the Wikipedia article at length. interviews count as primary as opposed to secondary sources, so also do not count for notability purposes (though unlike the social media references, they ARE acceptable to establish matters of fact). Killboy (born Sara Skinner) is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and vocalist from Texas.^[1][2], lead singer of the band Bad Wolves^[3][4][5]. She first gained attention through acoustic pop-rock releases and YouTube cover performances^[6] before becoming known as an EDM topline vocalist with the releases on Armada Music^[7][8], Moving Castle^[9][10],Monstercat, NoCopyrightSound^[11], Welcome Records^[12] and later launching the independent alternative-pop project Killboy^[1][13][14].

Her work combines elements of electronic music, alternative rock, emo, pop-punk, and hyperpop. As a vocalist and songwriter, she has collaborated with rock and electronic music producers and artists including Bad Wolves^[15][16][17] and Brooke Evers^[18], contributing to electronic music projects and music-related collaborations associated with League of Legends and Riot Games^{[19][20][21][22]}.

During the early 2020s, Killboy was signed to Atlantic Records^[23], where she released the EP My Crush (2022).^[24] During the development of the EP, Killboy collaborated with producers and songwriters John Feldmann^[13][25][26] and Colin Brittain^[27][28].

She later toured across the United States with Sueco and Lil Aaron during Sueco's It Was Fun While It Lasted tour^[29][30][31] and with Jxdn, Jasiah and Meet Me @ The Altar during Jxdn's Tell Me About Tomorrow tour in 2022^[32].

Sara Skinner was raised in Texarkana, Texas. She began studying piano during childhood and later learned guitar while developing an interest in songwriting and acoustic performance.^[33][34]

Skinner has stated in interviews that she initially disliked performing publicly and was encouraged by her parents to participate in talent shows. One of her earliest performances included singing "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne during elementary school.^[35][33]

During her teenage years, Skinner developed an online audience through YouTube cover performances and original acoustic material. She later relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where she continued developing songwriting and production skills.^[36]

Before adopting the Killboy name, Skinner performed under her birth name and pursued an acoustic pop-rock style^[37][38]. Around 2012–2013, she became associated with the Teen Hoot performance circuit and gained attention online through YouTube covers and independent releases.^[39][40]

In 2012, she released the EP Unchangeable^[41], which included the songs "Unchangeable", "The Only One", "With You", "Holding On", and "Break". Her breakout single Break was promoted through Radio Disney, Vevo, and SiriusXM. She later stated that a LinkedIn connection helped introduce her to a radio industry contact, which led to airplay on SiriusXM The Pulse. A music video for "Break" was released on YouTube in 2013.^[42]

In late 2013, she traveled to London for her first international promotional appearances and confirmed her move from Texas to Nashville. During this period, Skinner toured with the rock band Hinder and appeared at events associated with Hanson and Vicci Martinez.^[6]

She consistently described being drawn to darker emotional themes despite her polished pop image, citing influences such as My Chemical Romance, Slipknot, and Corey Taylor.^[43][35]

She also built an early fanbase nicknamed the “Sarah-nators.”

After relocating to Nashville and later Los Angeles, Skinner became active as a topline writer and featured vocalist within the EDM scene. She collaborated with numerous electronic music producers across future bass, melodic dubstep, progressive house, and bass music.

Her vocals appeared on releases by artists including Crankdat^[7][8], Pixel Terror^[44], Manila Killa, ATLiens, William Black, and yetep^[45]

Skinner also contributed to projects connected to the video game League of Legends from Riot Games and performed internationally in Taiwan im 2019.^[20][21][22]

Skinner later launched the Killboy project, shifting toward a more experimental and emotionally driven sound blending electronic music with alternative rock and hyperpop influences.^{[1][13][14][46]}

During this period, Killboy signed with Atlantic Records and released the EP My Crush in 2022.^[24] During the development of the EP, Skinner collaborated with producer and songwriter John Feldmann.^[13][25]

In 2022, she toured throughout North America with Sueco and Lil Aaron as part of Sueco's It Was Fun While It Lasted tour^[47][30][48] and with Jxdn, Jasiah and Meet Me @ The Altar during Jxdn's Tell Me About Tomorrow tour in 2022.^[32]

Killboy subsequently released multiple EPs and singles independently while building an online following through streaming platforms and social media.

In June 2026, Killboy is scheduled to release the EP BPD (Beautiful Princess Disorder), preceded by the single "Encore" to be released on May 29, 2026.

In the first half of 2025, the band Bad Wolves, with whom Skinner had previously collaborated on the song It’s You (2 Months) from the 2023 album Die About It^[15][16][17], began to undergo lineup changes.

According to statements later shared by Skinner, Bad Wolves founder and drummer John Boecklin approached her about joining the band as its new lead vocalist during the early stages of a new recording project. Skinner later recalled Boecklin framing the decision as “either I bury the band, or we try with you,” after which she agreed to participate in the project.

The collaboration was initially conducted privately and without public announcement. In August 2025, Skinner referenced joining an unnamed band during an appearance on the Uncle Lazer Podcast^[49] while also sharing social-media posts documenting songwriting and recording sessions in Nashville, Tennessee.^[50] Additional posts included demonstrations of intensive vocal practice and references to future relocation plans connected to recording work.^[51]

In December 2025, Skinner stated on social media that she was recording vocals for a band she had officially joined. Recording sessions reportedly continued into March 2026.^[52]

On April 30, 2026, Skinner publicly confirmed through social media posts that she had signed with Better Noise Music and had become the lead vocalist of Bad Wolves.^[5]

On the same day, she posted an Instagram story stating that the band was completing work on its next studio album, which she described as “the hardest” material the group had created.^[53]

On May 4, 2026, Skinner further discussed joining the band through posts on Reddit and social media, including a short video tour of a recording studio where she stated that she and producer Scott Stevens were completing final vocal sessions for the upcoming album.^[54]

June 29, 2026, Killboy was officially announced as Bad Wolves' new lead singer with the release of single "Paint It Red".^[55][56]

In addition to the Killboy project, Skinner has released lo‑fi and ambient music under the alias Slumberlord.^[57]

Killboy's music combines EDM, alternative rock, emo, pop-punk, and hyperpop influences. Her songwriting frequently focuses on mental health, relationships, addiction, and personal identity.^[1][13]

Since 2025, the range of her vocal techniques has expanded and also reached extreme genres of heavy music, which will be revealed on the upcoming joint album with Bad Wolves.^{[51] [58]}
