Kat Roche is an American rugby union referee.
Roche played for three years at her high school, Unionville High School, in Pennsylvania before joining the |North Carolina State University women's rugby team.[1][2] During her senior year, she was named captain and president of the team, but stepped down from president in order to focus on refereeing.[1]
Roche got certified as a referee in 2015 and joined the Southeast Rugby Referee Society (SERRS).[1] She was then selected by SERRS to attend the Stellenbosch, SA Referee Training Program for four months.[3] When she returned from South Africa she moved to Atlanta, Georgia to have better access to Women's Premiership matches.[1] In 2018 she worked the Rugby Americas North (RAN) U19 Final between Mexico and USA South and was was an assistant referee at HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series and the Rugby World Cup Sevens in 2017 and 2018.[4]
In 2019, she moved to Austin, Texas and began to work as an assistant referee for Major League Rugby.
