Kapiva is an Indian Ayurvedic brand founded in 2016. It is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.[1][2][3][4]
Kapiva was founded in August 2016 by Ameve Sharma. The company started as a chain of physical Ayurveda clinics but by 2018, had pivoted into Ayurveda-based functional foods and supplements.[1] The company initially concentrated on traditional Ayurvedic formulations.[5] The startup now has categories including wellness, diabetes care, heart health, and gym nutrition.[3]
In February 2022, Kapiva conducted a consumer health survey in 10 cities of India. which revealed that there's a significant uptick (95%) in the awareness and adoption of Ayurveda in the aftermath of the pandemic.[6] And the company initially expanded into categories including diabetes management, women's health, and sports nutrition.[7]
Kapiva secured funding from several well-known investors in the market such as OrbiMed, 360 ONE Asset, Vertex Ventures, and 3one4 Capital.[8][9][10]
In 2022, the company raised $28 Mn in a Series C round from OrbiMed, a New York-based healthcare-focussed investor.[1]
In September 2025, Kapiva received $60 million Series D funding from 360 One WAM and Vertex Ventures for its global expansion.[11]
The company announced Kapiva Innovation Fund (KIF), a Rs 50 crore corpus dedicated to advance research and development in Ayurveda[12] and launched its Kapiva Ayurveda Clinics for its expansion in India.[13]
The fund supported research in areas including novel formulations, standardization and biochemistry, artificial intelligence applications in Ayurveda, pre-clinical and clinical studies, advanced extraction technologies, bio-active enhancement, and technology-enabled wellness models. Applications were invited from research institutions, PhD scholars, clinicians, hospitals, startups, and incubators working in or related to the field of Ayurveda.[14][15]
The company has collaborated with institutions like Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (Ministry of Science and Technology (India)), Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Manipal Hospitals among others on various research projects.[16]
In his 87th monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat in 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Ayush manufacturing industry and Ayush startups, including Kapiva, for their role in making Ayurveda more accessible to people across India.[17]
