KAI NAKAMURA (born December 12, 1996) is a software engineer, UI/UX designer, video creator, game creator, and singer-songwriter. He is a multimedia artist who handles all aspects of his work himself. including songwriting, composition, design, video production, and direction while also managing his own self-production.
From Higashi-Ōsaka, Osaka Prefecture. He attended Higashi-Osaka Municipal Nishitsutsumi Elementary School and Higashi-Osaka Municipal Shinkita Junior High School, before graduating from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies. At the age of 16, he also studied abroad in New Zealand, where he was enrolled at Waiuku College.
Born on December 12, 1996, in Osaka Prefecture, and raised in Higashi-Ōsaka.
In 2013, at just 16 years old, he found himself on a solo trip to New Zealand to study abroad, barely able to write the alphabet, after his mother had signed him up for the program without telling him.
In 2014, inspired by his experiences studying abroad, he made up his mind to "become someone who makes an impact on the world," and decided to pursue a university education.
In 2016, during his first year of university, he co-founded "Airline Project" alongside members he met through a Malaysia Airlines internship. The club pioneered the full-scale use of social media marketing within the university, leading to a surge in membership and establishing the organization as a well-known presence on campus. In 2026, the club celebrated its 10th anniversary.
In 2020, after graduating from university, he joined All Nippon Airways (ANA). However, struggling with the realization that his goal of working abroad would not be achievable there, he made the decision to leave the company. While still employed, he began teaching himself programming.
In 2022, he relocated to Tokyo to expand his horizons. The career change with no prior experience proved to be an uphill battle — he faced rejection from over 200 companies. He has spoken openly about how, at the time, his savings had completely run out and he could not even afford to cook a proper meal. Eventually, he landed a part-time position at a web production company, which became the starting point of his career as a designer.
In 2026, after accumulating four years of experience as a designer and two years as an engineer, he made the move to Australia.
As a child, he was a boy who loved Lego, puzzles, computers, and drawing — often spending entire days lost in his artwork. He did not begin speaking until the age of four, which was a source of concern for his parents.
As a student, his academic performance ranked consistently near the bottom of his class. English, in particular, was a subject he repeatedly scored lowest in. Art and music, however, were areas where he truly stood out, winning prizes in art competitions and other
During his middle school years, a chance encounter with a junk computer his father had picked up from a scrapyard became the defining moment of his life. In the process of assembling a working PC from broken parts, he became deeply absorbed in video editing software and programming. Teaching himself these skills entirely on his own laid the foundation for his future career.
During his university years, he began using the music production software Logic Pro on a computer borrowed from a relative, and was inspired to take up music production through the influence of a DJ relative and friends who were also DJs. However, once he became involved with Airline Project and later joined All Nippon Airways (ANA), he found it increasingly difficult to find time for music production.
During his time working part-time as a designer's assistant, the conditions were grueling, he was subjected to excessive working hours, often not allowed to go home, and endured seven-hour lectures from the company president. In a later interview, he looked back on the experience, saying, "It was an incredibly tough time that I never want to relive."
After experiencing power harassment and bullying from a supervisor in his role as an engineer, he took a leave of absence from work. Finding himself with time on his hands during this period, he rediscovered Logic Pro, the music production software he had used back in his university days and threw himself back into making music. This chapter of his life would later prove to be the catalyst for his serious pursuit of a music career.
At the age of four, he was diagnosed with dyscalculia a form of learning disability as well as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). During his school years, he was enrolled in a special support class, where he received tailored educational accommodations.
After joining All Nippon Airways (ANA), he became acutely aware of these traits through the demands of number-heavy tasks at work, and recognized his ongoing need for support. He has since gone public about his conditions, with the aim of fostering greater understanding for others facing similar challenges.
