Joshua Pack (1974 – September 29, 2025) was an American investor and business executive who served as co-chief executive officer and managing partner of Fortress Investment Group, a New York–based investment management firm overseeing tens of billions of dollars in assets.
Early life and education
Pack attended the United States Air Force Academy before earning a degree in economics from California State University, San Marcos.
Career
Pack joined Fortress Investment Group in 2002, shortly after the launch of its credit investment platform. Over more than two decades at the firm, he held senior leadership roles across private credit, private equity, and real estate investing.
He was instrumental in the expansion of Fortress’s credit and asset-based investment strategies and became a key figure in the firm’s growth into a global investment manager.
In 2023, Pack was appointed co-chief executive officer and managing partner. During his tenure, Fortress managed over $50 billion in assets across a diversified set of investment strategies.
Death
Pack died on September 29, 2025, at the age of 51. His death was reported by multiple media outlets, and Fortress Investment Group described him as a central leader within the organization.
