Inflexion Private Equity Partners LLP is a European private equity firm headquartered in London. Founded in 1999, the firm invests in mid-market companies in Northern Europe.[1] As of 2026, Inflexion has approximately €20 billion in assets under management.[2] The company employs over 200 people across six global investment locations in the UK, Europe and the US.[3] [4]
Inflexion was co-founded in 1999 by John Hartz and Simon Turner with a focus on investing in UK mid-market companies.
The firm raised its first institutional fund in 2003 and completed its first exit in 2004, with the sale of cinema operator Ster Century.[5] [6]
During the 2010s, Inflexion launched new strategies focused on minority investments and lower mid-market transactions while broadening its geographic reach beyond the United Kingdom.[4] [7]
In 2014, Inflexion launched Buyout Fund IV, targeting majority equity investments in the mid-market. In the same year, it launched Partnership Capital Fund I, a minority equity strategy aimed at business owners seeking institutional backing without relinquishing control or taking on debt.[8]
In 2016, Inflexion launched Enterprise Fund IV, targeting majority and minority equity investments within the lower mid-market, and Inflexion Supplemental Fund IV to co-invest alongside the buyout and partnership funds raised in 2014.[9]
In 2018, the firm established the Inflexion Foundation, a charitable initiative focused on supporting disadvantaged young people and environmental causes. By 2026, it had committed £20 million to 80 charities predominantly in the UK and Europe through grants, strategic partnerships and matched fundraising.[10][11]
In May 2019, Inflexion closed Inflexion Enterprise Fund V LP and the Inflexion Supplemental Fund V, raising £400m and £600m respectively.[12] [13]
Since 2020, Inflexion has opened investment offices in Amsterdam (2021), Stockholm (2023) and Frankfurt (2024).[14][15] In October 2025, Inflexion opened its New York office.[16][17]
In March 2022, Inflexion closed Inflexion Buyout Fund VI raising £2.5 billion.[18][19]
In March 2024, Inflexion closed its third Partnership Capital Fund at its hard cap of £1.75bn, making it one of the largest dedicated minority funds in Europe.[20]
In the same year, Inflexion held a final close for Enterprise Fund VI at its £975 million hard cap.[21]
In May 2025, Inflexion closed Continuation Fund I at £2.3 billion, one of the largest multi-asset continuation funds raised in Europe at that time.[22] [23]
In March 2026, Inflexion closed Inflexion Buyout Fund VII at €4.5 billion, above its €3.75 billion target after six months in the market. [24]
In June 2026, Inflexion was ranked 78th in Private Equity International's PEI 300 ranking among the world's largest private equity firms.[25]
The company has over 200 employees in offices in London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Singapore and New York. John Hartz and Simon Turner (the co-founders of Inflexion), together with Flor Kassai, are Managing Partners of the Firm.[26][27][28]
Inflexion’s investor base comprises institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance firms, asset managers, endowments, foundations, wealth managers and family offices.[1]
Inflexion invests in mid-market businesses across Europe through majority and minority equity investments. The firm focuses on the Business Services, Technology, Healthcare, Financial Services, Industrials and Consumer sectors.[29] It has three fund strategies dedicated to majority and minority investing.[30] As of June 2026, Inflexion had invested in over 130 companies and exited 75. Notable investments include Virgin Experience Days, Aspen Pumps, Huws Gray, Medik8, aosphere, Chambers and Partners, GlobalData Healthcare, finanzen.net and Baker Tilly Netherlands.

In May 2018, Inflexion sold its stake in UK Power Reserve to Singapore-based energy group Sembcorp Industries. [32]
In December 2020, Inflexion acquired Infront ASA, a Norwegian financial data, news and analytics company in a $170+ million deal. [33]
In January 2021, Inflexion invested in Digital Wholesale Solutions (now renamed Giacom) to support its carve out from Daisy Group. The transaction valued DWS at an enterprise valuation of £1 billion.[34]
In September 2021, Inflexion sold its minority investment in Medivet to CVC Capital Partners.[35]
In August 2022, Inflexion sold its investment in British testing and inspection company Phenna to Oakley Capital in a deal valuing the company at more than £1 billion.[36]
In November 2023, Inflexion sold legal rankings provider Chambers & Partners to US investment group Abry Partners in £400 million deal.[37]
In November 2024, Inflexion acquired online platform finanzen.net from Axel Springer.[38]
In December 2024, Inflexion acquired a majority stake in premium darts equipment manufacturer Nodor.[39]
In January 2025, Inflexion made a minority investment in Baker Tilly Netherlands, an accountancy and advisory firm.[40]
In July 2026, Inflexion sold its majority stake in Avantus Aerospace to U.S. private-equity firm Arcline Investment Management in a deal believed to be worth around $1.1 billion.[41]
