IFWH is a slang acronym used in the online video game Rocket League. Players usually type it in chat after scoring a goal. The phrase refers to the WIDTH of the goal net, suggesting that the other team left their net WIDE open and made it easy to score.

The term is mainly used as playful banter between players. Because Rocket League has rules against offensive language in chat, players sometimes create jokes, acronyms, or coded phrases to tease opponents without breaking the game’s Terms of Service (TOS). IFWH is one example of this kind of expression.

Meaning and Usage

Players normally use IFWH right after scoring a goal, especially when the defense made a mistake or left the net unguarded. By mentioning the WIDTH of the net, the message jokingly implies that the goal was easy because the defenders didn’t properly protect their net.

Although IFWH is meant to be funny, players sometimes say it should be used in a Felice-erious tone. This means acting serious about the joke while still keeping it playful.

Within the joke, failing to do this could supposedly result in being “dropped indefinitely by the BIG IP.” This is not a real rule but rather part of the humor that surrounds the term within the community.
