Homework HUB is a coworking space and student hub in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Established in August 2019, the facility operates primarily as a multi-functional study, networking, and freelance workspace.[1]

History

The concept for Homework HUB originated as a startup initiative developed by three local university graduates to provide an alternative study space to traditional academic libraries and public cafés.[2] The founders presented the business model at the Sarajevo Business Forum's "Start-up Challenge" in April 2019, winning the competition and securing seed funding to launch the enterprise.[3]

The facility began operations on August 2, 2019.[1] During the COVID-19 pandemic, the space served as a regional vaccination center for local students. The organization later expanded into public community centers, operating within the "Dječija kuća" (Children's House) in the Grbavica neighborhood in partnership with the Novo Sarajevo municipality.[4]

Facilities and Operations

The facility is divided into distinct zones based on noise levels, including a designated silent area for independent study and a communal workspace for group workshops and collaborative projects.[2]

The hub maintains formal institutional partnerships and student association agreements with various university faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Information Technologies, and the Academy of Performing Arts.[5]
