A "High Tide" is a simple alcoholic drink originating from Southern California. It was developed by beer drinkers who wanted a lower carb option with a similar ABV% to beer, but not the sweetness of a commercial seltzer. Unlike most cocktails, a High Tide is served specifically in a beer glass (Pint, Tumbler, Mug) and not in a "tall" cocktail glass.
A High Tide will have a roughly similar ABV to beer, and this recipe will result in around 4.4% ABV. Some increase the Vodka to 3oz, which increases the ABV%[1]
