First Fragment is a Canadian technical death metal band from Longueuil, Québec.[1]

Their music is characterized not only by the typical features of technical death metal but also by the inclusion of neoclassical and flamenco elements, either in full pieces or as sections within more metal-oriented compositions.[2]

Formed in 2007, First Fragment released its first full-length album, "Dasein" (a reference to Heidegger philosophy, in 2016.[3][4] Prior to that, the band had released two demos and an EP, The Afterthought Ecstasy.[5]

In 2019, the band embarked on a 23-date European tour (Diluvium Europa) under the label Unique Leader Records, performing alongside three other metal bands.[6]
