Extensiv (formerly 3PL Central) is an American cloud-based logistics software company that develops warehouse management system (WMS) and order management system (OMS) software for third-party logistics (3PL) providers, e-commerce sellers, and brands. The company was founded in 2006 as 3PL Central and rebranded as Extensiv in May 2022 after acquiring several complementary software businesses.[1][2] It is headquartered in El Segundo, California.
The company reports that its platform supports more than 2,000 third-party logistics warehouses and over 49,000 active users, processing more than 10.8 million orders per month.[3] Extensiv appeared on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States for five consecutive years.[4]
3PL Central was founded in 2006 to provide warehouse management software designed specifically for third-party logistics providers, which manage inventory and fulfillment for multiple client brands within shared facilities. Its flagship product, 3PL Warehouse Manager, was among the early cloud-based WMS platforms built for that multi-client operating model.[3]
The growth-equity firm Mainsail Partners first invested in the company in 2015 and, in 2021, led a syndicate that raised an additional $45 million in growth capital.[5][6] According to PitchBook, the company has raised approximately $146 million in total funding.[7]
In 2021, 3PL Central acquired three software companies to broaden its platform: Skubana, a multichannel order and inventory management system; Scout, a warehouse management product for high-volume fulfillment; and CartRover, a systems-integration service connecting shopping carts, marketplaces, and carriers.[8]
In May 2022, the company consolidated these products under a single brand and renamed itself Extensiv.[1][2]
In June 2026, Extensiv launched Extensiv AI, a conversational interface that lets users query live warehouse data and help documentation in natural language.[3]
Extensiv offers a connected suite of logistics software products:[3]
The products share a common data layer and a library of pre-built integrations to e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, and shipping carriers, allowing inventory and order data to synchronize across connected systems.[3]
Extensiv is privately held and majority-owned by Mainsail Partners.[5] The company is headquartered in El Segundo, California.[3]
Andy Lloyd, a former NetSuite executive, served as chief executive officer through the company's rebranding and expansion. In 2024, Aaron Stead was appointed chief executive officer, having previously served as the company's president; his earlier roles included senior positions at Mindbody and Infusionsoft (later Keap).[9]
Extensiv and its predecessor 3PL Central received several industry recognitions:
