Erd1 (born Erdi Xhemollari; 18 July 1998) is an Albanian DJ, record producer, and songwriter. He is known for blending electronic dance genres such as house, tech house, moombahton, slap house, afrobeat, dancehall, and Latin-inspired rhythms. Born in Tirana, Albania, and later based in Spain, Erd1 gained recognition in 2019 following the viral success of his remix of “Smack That”, which helped establish his presence across Eastern Europe’s club scene.
He is the founder of the independent label ButtonPlay Records and has performed in nightlife destinations including Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia. His single “Last Night” became one of his most-streamed releases, contributing to more than 200 million cumulative streams across digital platforms.
Erd1’s productions have received support from international electronic music artists including Tiësto, Alok, Timmy Trumpet, R3HAB, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. In 2024, he was featured on BPM Supreme’s White Label series, highlighting emerging festival-oriented electronic artists.
Erd1 was born as Erdi Xhemollari on 18 July 1998 in Tirana. He developed an interest in electronic music production at an early age and began experimenting with digital audio software during his teenage years. Influenced by European club culture and Balkan nightlife, he incorporated a wide range of genres into his productions, including house, Latin house, afrobeat, and dancehall elements.
After relocating to Spain, Erd1 became active within the Spanish nightlife circuit, performing in clubs and events across cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia. His energetic DJ performances and genre-crossing productions helped him gain a growing international audience.
2019–2020: Breakthrough and festival appearances
In 2019, Erd1 gained wider recognition after releasing a remix of “Smack That”, which circulated widely on streaming and DJ platforms throughout Eastern Europe. The same year, he founded the independent label ButtonPlay Records, through which he began releasing original productions and collaborations.
Erd1 made his first major festival appearance at the Colour Day Festival in Albania on 18 May 2019. Following the performance, he continued appearing at clubs and music events throughout Albania and neighboring countries.
2021–2023: Streaming growth
Between 2021 and 2023, Erd1 expanded his catalog through consistent digital releases on ButtonPlay Records. Tracks such as “Till Endlessly”, “Money”, “Alone”, and “Somebody Else” helped increase his visibility on streaming platforms and DJ pools.
During this period, his productions began receiving support from internationally known EDM artists and festival DJs. His style combined commercial dance structures with Latin percussion, afrobeat grooves, and club-oriented basslines.
2024–present: International recognition
Erd1 achieved broader international recognition with the release of “Last Night”, which surpassed 14.5 million streams across platforms. The track received radio and DJ support internationally and became one of his signature songs.
In 2024, BPM Supreme included Erd1 in its White Label feature, recognizing his festival-ready sound and growing influence in electronic dance music.
By 2025, his releases such as “Taki Tak”, “Sirena”, and “Light” further expanded his presence within the house and afro house scenes.
