DEATH VOMIT is a death metal band from Yogyakarta that was officially founded in 1995. In 2026, DEATH VOMIT will be exactly 31 years old, having forged their presence and work in the Indonesian music scene. DEATH VOMIT is one of the most influential bands in the death metal genre in Indonesia and has consistently followed the death metal path since its inception until now.
Their debut album, Eternally Deprecated, was officially released on November 24, 1999, under their own label, Demented Mind Records. It was later re-released by another Bandung label, Extreme Soul Production.
DEATH VOMIT recorded their second album, The Prophecy, in May 2006 under Rottrevore Records in Jakarta. Then, on June 19, 2008, DEATH VOMIT held a live performance, recorded on DVD, titled Flames of Hate, still under Rottrevore Records.
On August 25, 2014, DEATH VOMIT released their third album, Forging A Legacy, under Armstretch Records. The album features Dennis Munoz, veteran guitarist for Solstice from Miami, Florida, on the guitar solos on the songs "Decadence of Life" and "Imposing Decade Remains."
Amid the pandemic, on July 29, 2020, DEATH VOMIT released their fourth album, Dominion Over Creation. For this album, DEATH VOMIT decided to return to their own label, Demented Mind Records.
In 2026, DEATH VOMIT released a new album with a fresh lineup. Roy Agus retained drums, while Oki Haribowo moved from bass to vocals and guitar. Ari Kristiono took over bass. The album, titled "Thou Shalt Behold," adhered firmly to the old-school death metal formula, with a strong character as DEATH VOMIT's defining characteristic.
