David Banon, born 21 March 1945 in Port-Lyautey, todayKénitra, in Morocco, is a philosopher and university professor. He is a specialist in Jewish Biblical interpretation and the history of the Bible .
David Banon is the eldest born of a big Jewish family in Morocco. He studied at the 'Normal' Hebrew School in Casablanca, the he studied philosophy in Lyon. In 1974, a little after his marriage, he moved to Switzerland and became a doctor of letters at the University of Geneva. He supported his thesis in 1986 before Emmanuel Levinas, Henri Meschonnic, Robert Martin-Achard and George Steiner[1].
