Dapper Group is a Nigerian music and entertainment company headquartered in Lagos. Founded in 2018 by music executive and entrepreneur Damilola Akinwunmi (known as "Dapper" or "Dapper Damm"), the company began as a music distribution and label-services business and later expanded into a full-service ("360") entertainment company offering artist management, distribution, publishing, live events, and film production. It operates primarily within the Afrobeats and Nigerian street-pop scenes.
Dapper Group was established in 2018 by Damilola Akinwunmi, who had previously gained experience in talent management while studying sociology at the University of Lagos.[1] The company started as a music distribution and label-services operation before growing into a self-sustaining entertainment company that also offers management and publishing services.[2][3]
By the mid-2020s the group reported that it had grown to around 25 employees and represented roughly 20 artists, with a distribution catalogue exceeding 10,000 records and more than one billion streams annually since 2022.[4]
Dapper Group operates through several subsidiaries and verticals, including:[3][5]
Over the years, Dapper Group has been affiliated with artists including Omah Lay, Skiibii, and producer Rexxie. Artists associated with its imprint have included Shallipopi, Seyi Vibez, TI Blaze, Balloranking, and BhadBoi OML.[3]
Dapper Group executive-produced Rexxie's album A True Champion, which featured the late singer Mohbad on the single "KPK".[5]
In December 2025, the group's live-events arm, Dapper Live, staged a concert billed as "Trench Symphony" in Lagos, which was recognised by Guinness World Records for the largest orchestra assembled for an Afrobeats concert, featuring more than 80 orchestral performers alongside artists such as TI Blaze, TML Vibez, BhadBoi OML, and others.[4] The company has also promoted an event series known as Trench Fest.
